Following the phenomenal success of the SA Specialist online course which has been completed by thousands of SA Specialists, South African Tourism has now created the SA Specialist: Experiences programme and are looking forward to the roll-out of this next phase.

The SA Specialist: Experiences programme is free and once completed you get a further qualification. The next phase of the programme is designed to expose those who have completed the SA Specialist programme to a series of fantastic South African experiences.

This interactive online programme, with its strong visual and multimedia element, will further improve your ability to sell South Africa as a tourist destination.

It was developed by a team of Flowstars consisting of programmers, content writers, designers and project managers.

The course offers seven experiences. You can choose to complete only one of them, all seven, or any number in between – it’s entirely up to you. However, we recommend completing all of them – the more you know, the better you can sell the country.

The seven experiences:

  • Lap of Luxury: If your clients have a taste for fine living, then South Africa will not disappoint. From fine-dining restaurants to swanky wine and golf estates, and fashion-conscious shopping centres, South Africa has plenty to offer those who want to live it up a little
  • Scenic Beauty: When it comes to scenic beauty, South Africa consistently ranks among the top destinations in the world
  • Wildlife Plus: An essential component of any South African itinerary is a visit to a wildlife area, be it a Big Five game reserve or one of the many smaller national and provincial parks to be found in the country
  • Action Adventure: With spectacular scenery, an excellent climate, plentiful wildlife and wide, open spaces, a South African holiday and adventure go hand in hand
  • Deep Blue Plus: South Africa is blessed with 3 000km of coastline, as well as the cold Benguela and warm Agulhas currents that intermingle off the southern tip of the African continent. This provides for an enormous diversity of habitat and marine life
  • Roots and Culture: From the very first origins of humanity to ancient African kingdoms and a more recent history involving a diamond and gold rush and the rise of apartheid, South Africa has no shortage of visitor experiences for those interested in delving a bit deeper
  • Culture and Lifestyle Plus: Give your clients the opportunity to mingle with the locals and experience South Africa’s lively cultural life. The Culture and Lifestyle Plus experience will help you suggest jazz festivals, nightclubs or even South Africa’s premier horse race

Note: the SA Specialist programme must be completed before starting the SA Specialist: Experiences programme
