Flow Communications builds on its creative relationship with Earth-Touch.com with the launch on February 1 of a new design and format for its blog: http://blog.earth-touch.com.
Earth-Touch, a website which publishes high-definition video footage of wildlife from locations around the world, has flourished since its launch in 2007.
Easy to navigate and packed with new multimedia features, the new blog format is the perfect accompaniment to Earth-Touch’s main website,www.earth-touch.com. The new blog has a number of advanced features such as a Flickr feed of Earth-Touch’s outstanding photographs and a showcase of the latest Earth-Touch videos on its home page.
Earth-Touch Managing Director Richard van Wyk complimented Flow on the blog: “This is really beautiful. Very inspiring. Brilliant work.Thank you.”
The new blog is built on the advanced content management system Expression Engine. Flow web designer Richard Frank talks of the advantages of moving away from a free blogging platform: “Developing our own blog enables us to be more flexible in our approach. The new format has also allowed us to align the blog more closely with the Earth-Touch brand.” Using the Expression Engine platform has also enabled tagging on the blog as well as a better commenting engine.
Flow also develops the content for the blog on a daily basis, regularly updating the site with carefully researched information about the natural world and with personal experiences shared by the field crews, among other things.
Our working relationship with Earth-Touch has challenged us to come up with original and refreshing ways of reflecting the philosophy of the company. The redesign of the blog illustrates Flow’s intimate knowledge of the technical and creative needs and direction of the company.
