Established in 1995, the Constitutional Court Trust manages funds donated to support the Constitutional Court.
The trust was initially founded to support the newly established Constitutional Court, and received monies from friends of South Africa to use for resourcing its library and funding law clerks for its judges.
The Department of Justice and Office of the Chief Justice, more recently, took over the funding responsibility for these activities and the trust now continues with projects related to the court, including constitutional education and various initiatives to preserve South Africa’s transition history.
Flow Communications was given the task of giving the trust its first online presence, and designed a website that serves to make basic information on the trust and its projects publically and easily accessible. With most of its work so closely related to the court, it is also necessary that its activities are absolutely transparent.
“Flow took on the challenge of promoting the trust as an organism with its own life and identity, distinct from the court’s. We are pleased with the way that static and dynamic content were integrated to focus users on the trust’s activities and opportunities for collaboration,” says Kevin Daly from the Constitutional Court Trust.
“It was a real privilege to work on this site as the Constitutional Court Trust has such a meaningful purpose,” says Kevin Collins, Flow Communications strategist and project manager.
“And, of course, I really appreciate the collection of artwork [at the Constitutional Court] – some of which has been beautifully integrated into the site. I really feel every South African should have the opportunity to visit the Constitutional Court building and see how democracy is supported at a very real level,” concludes Kevin.
