Flow Cape Town’s client, the City of Cape Town, has been honoured at the SA Publication Forum Awards. The city’s external website was one of the finalists in the “Best Corporate Website” category at the recent awards ceremony, achieving an overall score of 82%.
According to the SA Publication Forum, the aim of the competition is to reward excellence in internal and external corporate communication media, with approximately 150 entries received each year. Entries are received across the board, from government to corporates to small businesses, freelancers and agencies. The competition has grown in stature annually.
The category of corporate websites was judged on general image, user-friendliness, navigation, regular updates of information, knowledge of the target audience and writing.
The judges consisted of experts in the corporate communications field who graded the publication in terms of writing, communication, design and photography.
Flow has been contracted to work on the City of Cape Town’s website content since September 2012, and the consistent hard work and dedication has paid off. Says content developer/subeditor Marin Gorrie: “I’m proud to be working on a website that is acknowledged for, among others, the writing, navigation and regular updates of information. It’s fantastic to know that my contribution is being recognised by the SA Publication Forum and I only hope that we can do even better next year.”
Head of e-communication at the City of Cape Town Martin Pollack is delighted with the achievement, and attributes the high score to excellent content.
