Cape Town Flowstars are fond of four-legged animals, with more than half the office official pet owners.
That said, we are only a team of seven. But still, pet or no pet, our nurturing nature extends to the workplace and we’ve collectively adopted several office pets. In no particular order whatsoever, here they are:
We have so much love for our Two Oceans Aquarium client that they’re well represented in this office – with not one, but two waddling little men in their tuxedos.
Our stuffed penguin is a desk resident, while his plastic counterpart can be found chair-hopping between the boardroom and our “lounge”. His philosophy on being deskbound at the workplace – “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”
Always paired together, these crazy cackling chickens stay grounded in one of our large pots – meant for a plant. On the odd occasion you’ll find them contemplating crossing a road – any road – or admiring their wooden physique.
Until recently, our fishbowl didn’t even hold water! Now, it’s a little crowded with our duck, hippo, turtle and crocodile – all getting along just swimmingly (don’t ask us how this is possible, we don’t have the answers).
Meet the guardians of the office, cardboard cut-out Frank and stuffed Stanley. This doggy duo is located at the entrance to welcome unsuspecting visitors and keep an eye after hours. Don’t be fooled by their size – as the saying goes, “Dynamite comes in small packages.”
Our animal Stikeez – featuring Cow, Piggy, Guinny and Hip-Hip – are a troublesome lot (case in point: this picture). They can never stay in one place for too long and have a tendency to leap from the countertops and cupboards.
Okay, he’s no animal but we threw him in for good measure. One of our newest additions to the office, he goes by “Ernie with a U”. As the keeper of boiling hot water for our copious cups of coffee and tea, instant oats and the like, “Ernie with a U” is already part of the furniture.
Please note: no animals or urns were harmed during this photo series.
