Having failed in my attempts to achieve national colours in everything from jukskei to underwater monopoly, I’ve been relishing the opportunity to represent South Africa as a blogger – thanks to Flow Communications’ work with South African Tourism.
Along with acclaimed travel writer Kate Turkington, I have been appointed as a content custodian for ‘adventure and journeys’. Our job is to inform potential visitors to South Africa about the great routes, trails and outdoor activities available in our extremely diverse country.
Kate is an award-winning travel writer who has survived many extreme adventures across the globe, as well as written two books, There’s More to Life than Surface and Doing it with Doris. Working with her is both an honour and an excellent opportunity.
We have been writing blogs for a South African Tourism-sponsored adventure and journey website, which is now live: http://www.beckon.co.za/. Follow this website for travel tips and adventure ideas.
I was also very lucky to be given the responsibility of blogging about sporting matters in South Africa. Rugby, cricket, soccer, swimming, cycling, running, surfing and motorsport are just a few of the sports that I will be lucky enough to write about in the near future, given South Africa’s staunch sporting culture.
Sport is one category within a South African lifestyle blog, sponsored by South African Tourism, which also includes updates about entertainment, food, as well as health and wellness.
