Be a hero and save lives at the Flow blood drive

It’s that time again, when Flowstars and friends roll up their sleeves and bleed for a good cause.

Flow will be hosting its first blood drive of 2014 on 21 February, at the Flow offices in Johannesburg. Everyone – from Flowstars to friends and family – is welcome.

Here are a few interesting facts about blood and blood donation, to give you the courage to bleed and save a life:

• Someone, somewhere in the world, needs blood every two seconds
• One pint of blood can save up to three lives
• Frozen plasma can be stored for up to a year
• Newborn babies have about one cup of blood in their bodies
• Your heart will pump enough blood in your lifetime to fill 200 train tanker cars
