Flow was delighted to be asked to redesign and update two of the halls at the Ditsong National Museum of Natural History in Pretoria. The existing museum displays have been in place since the 1970s, so a relook of the Biodiversity Hall and Bird Hall was in order.
Flow was asked to design world-class exhibitions that would make the best use of the existing space and collections. Collaborating with the curators and scientists at the museum allowed us wonderful insights not only into our astounding natural heritage, but also into the workings behind the scenes in the museum.
Flow covered all aspects of the design of the spaces – from architectural and cabinet design to graphic panels and digital interfaces – bringing the best of international edutainment practices into the mix. Making the content relevant, interesting and engaging was part of the challenge, but one that was widely embraced by Flow's content and design teams.
