The Good Work Foundation: Reimagining Rural Education awards entry video 2026

Since 2012, the Good Work Foundation (GWF) has been transforming young lives in remote villages in Mpumalanga and the Free State. This education non-profit offers rural children free coding and robotics lessons, and equips school-leavers to enter the workplace through hands-on digital skills and vocation-specific training. 

Importantly, the organisation prizes creativity as highly as it does technology, placing a premium on enriching lives through “wonder-filled learning”. 

By enhancing young people’s digital literacy and competency, and training them to work in hospitality, IT or conservation, GWF has set in motion a quiet but powerful education revolution in two of the country’s most impoverished areas.
