The Daily Maverick is known for speaking truth to power. Its premier event, The Gathering, brings together South African leaders to boldly unpack our country’s challenges.
In 2022, the Daily Maverick hosted The Gathering as a hybrid event taking place physically in Cape Town, but also on an online platform for its subscribers. Flow Communications developed and managed the innovative platform, allowing virtual participants to “be” in the physical room, and comment and ask panellists questions in real time, thereby growing the event exponentially, to include 1600 physical attendees and 7260 online registrations - more than four timesthe physical audience.
