Table Mountain Aerial Cableway: awards entry video 2026
For most people, hiking up Platteklip Gorge is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to the summit of Table Mountain, offering a rewarding view after a challenging 800m elevation climb up 800 double-sized steps, which typically takes two to three hours to complete. Now imagine doing this up to eight times between sunrise and sunset.
The Cableway Charity Challenge is an annual Table Mountain fundraiser now in its 17th year, run by the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company with the JDI Foundation. Participants summit Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible between sunrise and sunset to raise money for deserving charities.
