Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is one of the world’s best-loved and most admired leaders. For most of his life of 90 years, he courageously and tirelessly stood up for the world’s vulnerable people and, in later years, for the planet we all call home.
In 2013, the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation was established to ensure that the Archbishop’s example of uncompromised bravery is celebrated, along with that of his equally brave wife, Leah Tutu. It is the foundation’s task to ensure that their example is used to inspire others, and especially young African activists, and to give them courage in the continued battle against poverty, inequality, and human rights and environmental abuses.
Tutu turned 90 in 2021, making it a pivotal year for the Archbishop and the foundation. Flow Communications worked with the foundation throughout the year to ensure its message was spread far and wide, and that its brand reached greater heights. It is the kind of work Flow cherishes and strives towards – meaningful, impactful and focused on excellence.
A large part of Flow’s work with the foundation was the development of written pieces that conveyed the values and voice of the foundation and its founders. This work was showcased in the foundation’s monthly newsletter, which was initiated by Flow. The monthly newsletter was complemented by other, shorter newsletters that also sought to spread the word on various issues and events.
