Khululeka – It’s in our hands is a 46664-commissioned play that educates South African school children about the risks of HIV/AIDS. The play, which is based on true stories, encourages these young adults to know their status and to break the silence and stigma surrounding the disease.
46664 asked Flow Communications to provide a document which highlights the impact that the play is having at a community level on those most affected by HIV/AIDS in high prevalence provinces, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The booklet provides a history and description of the play before outlining the key issues that the play deals with. The booklet also unpacks the need for this initiative by examining the language the youth use to discuss HIV/AIDS as well as the educational power of interactive theatre.
