Gauteng Tourism Authority
September 2010 to presentThe Gauteng Tourism Authority website features over 100 top attractions in the province – the primary drawcard for web traffic and international visitors – and developed an attractions menu that featured images, directions, opening hours, information on nearby attractions, and details on what makes each hot spot in the province unique.
The Flow team then worked on a comprehensive visitor guide with information about each of the provincial regions’ geography, weather, history, and transport and communication networks. The visitor guide also highlights prominent Gauteng personalities, giving a detailed biography of each character who has added to the colour of the province.
Careful not to disregard business and trade opportunities within the tourism space, Flow also built in business and industry pages, extending website applications to those involved in making and taking advantage of opportunities across the province.
Finally, to satisfy international media representatives, Flow enhanced the website offering by introducing a library of fact sheets (free for download) and a high-resolution image gallery. Accredited partners simply need to login and register on the media page. In keeping with social media trends, the site also has integrated Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and Facebook functionality.
