Foresight booklet
November 2009“Foresight” is a booklet produced in 2009 for the Cooperation Framework on Innovation Systems between Finland and South Africa (Cofisa). The subheading, “South Africans thinking about tomorrow today”, hints at the purpose of the booklet: to share information about “the disciplined analysis of alternative futures”. Countries and organisations use the discipline of Foresight to influence policy, strategy and decision-making. Cofisa – a joint programme between the South African and Finnish government to improve South Africa’s systems of innovation – found Foresight a useful mechanism and decided to share it with a wider public through this booklet. Flow sub-edited the copy and designed the publication.
