Web development and design

Drama for Life (DFL) is a drama programme at the University of the Witwatersrand designed to stimulate the use of applied drama and theatre practices to build capacity in HIV/AIDS education. These practices encompass drama in education, drama therapy, playback theatre, theatre in education, theatre of the oppressed, community theatre and theatre for development.

Flow designed and programmed the DFL website, which informs the public about the programme and the work of its scholars and staff. The website is also an important recruitment tool that provides application information to potential students from across the continent.

The website has a very earthy African feel to it, symbolic of how the programme’s work is firmly rooted in the African continent. The site not only includes lots of information about the course, scholars and staff but has recently been extended to include the Drama for Life Festival, Conference and Company – showing the dynamic nature of the website.

Currently the Drama for Life team write most of the blog and news content which features on the website and Flow sub-edit all the content before it goes live. Flow also provides a supportive role and staff members are on hand to assist the DFL team with any technical queries or issues.
