Thanks to a collaboration between Flow’s largest client, Cape Town Tourism, and Cape Town Routes Unlimited, to share their website content and links, Flow landed an exciting project called Beyond Cape Town.
As the name indicates, this was an opportunity to develop website content on the many small, yet fascinating places that fall outside of greater Cape Town.
If Cape Town represents the diamond in the crown, then the five magnificent regions which lie beyond the Mother City’s environs are surely the smaller gems that await discovery by the curious tourist. The Garden Route and Klein Karoo, Cape Karoo, Cape West Coast, Cape Overberg, Cape Winelands are each rich in their own unique culture, history, character, wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
Flow adopted a macro-to-micro approach to each of these regions, first providing a general overview of the area to give the new visitor a taste of what they are likely to find there, then honing in on the smaller details, including a list of towns falling within each zone.
On a more specific level, we provided practical guidelines on accessing each region by air and by road, including a useful Google map, along with a climate guide to provide the tourist with an idea of the optimum time of year to visit.
To encapsulate the best tourist attractions to be found in each region beyond Cape Town, a “six of the best” compilation in each section makes the choice simpler for the first-time visitor. This shortlist caters to a range of tastes and covers interests ranging from culture to history and outdoor activities to spas and wellness.
This was a tightly focused project with interesting subject material, which made it a pleasure to work on.
