Flow Communications is proud to welcome Segway South Africa, to its stable of clients. Segway’s refurbished website has been online for the past few months and to check up on its success I visited the site’s programmer Reatile Tshikalange to find out about the new features.

“Segway is a company that designs motorised human transporters,” says Reatile. “They wanted Flow to redo their website, and create an easy-to-use system to help them manage bookings for their guided tours. I was responsible for designing and programming the engine they use. Creating their booking system was quite a challenge as each tour differs in vehicle number and booking time.”

Reatile explains that Segway has bases across the country, such as in major tourist destinations like Sun City and the Western Cape.“But there is a limit to the space available on each tour and they were becoming more popular. Segway wanted me to create a seamless network to prevent errors like double bookings at every destination.”

The website has been using the system since the end of November, so it’s a bit early to tell how well it has worked, but the client is very happy.
