Flow welcomed another intern this year in the form of Wits journalism student Jay Caboz. He has a degree in fine arts and a certificate in photo-journalism, and has been a regular contributor to the Gauteng Tourism Authority (GTA) website.
Jay says his experience so far has been nothing short of interesting. “I’ve tried to apply myself in everything I’ve been asked to do,” he says. “So far I’ve been involved in writing blogs, photographing small jobs and auditing images on the GTA website.
“I’ve started learning how to work on the backend of a website in HTML code which has been really fun.”
Flowstar Kate Rau says, “Jay’s mostly been working on GTA and has done a comprehensive image audit which is great. Bonus is he’s a photographer and a writer – he went to photograph public pools for his latest blog.”
Project Manager Ros Caboz, also Jay’s mom says, “It’s been quite strange having Jay here, but this is a really great start for him. He seems to be really enjoying his time at this ‘cool’ company.”
Jay is at Flow to focus on his writing techniques since he’ll be doing his honours in journalism at Wits from February.
