We’re just over half-way through the month, but June has already heralded a great deal of excitement at Flow.
From the kick off of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ to the first session of Flow School, things have certainly been busy. But we’ve been more than managing with the increased load, thanks to new Flowstars, Dimitri Kouvdis and George Xafis.
Dimitri, who graduated from the University of Johannesburg with a BTech Multimedia degree, joined Flow’s programming studio earlier this month. He has already programmed two new websites and helped with functionality on others, including a fabulous table of World Cup results for Cape Town Tourism’s 2010 site, which he is personally keeping up to date.
Described by his programming colleague, Reatile Tshikalange, as “a cool guy with a great personality”, Dimitri seems to enjoy the work environment so far “because of the friendly and chilled atmosphere”, adding that he is eager to broaden his experience.
George, a talented graphic designer with significant experience in print, video and the web, holds a BA Honours in Multimedia Design, and has been working in the design industry since 2001.
Of Flow, George says, “So far, so good! The people are all very calm and collected, and they have great attitudes.”
He furthermore appreciates the Flow dynamic, saying “It’s a group of multi-talented individuals that work well as a team.”
He is especially fond of Khanyi’s bi-weekly lunches, adding, “The home-cooked meals are an added bonus!”
Design Studio Manager Janet Berger is pleased to welcome George to the Flow family. She says, “George has slipped in among the design team without a hiccough. It seems like he has always been here. One of those ‘strong silent’ types, he just gets on with whatever job is on hand with enthusiasm and intensity.”
Dimitri and George have been priceless additions to the Flow team and have fitted in in no time. It wasn’t long until they were playing foosball and joking with the rest of us.
We’re delighted to welcome Dimitri and George to Flow!
