Flow’s managers look forward to an exciting 2012

4 Jan 2012

With 2012 now here, Flow’s managers are looking forward to a new year and new challenges. Here’s what they hope to achieve in 2012…

Tara Turkington, CEO

I am looking forward to another fabulous year in which we will continue to grow our team, our portfolio of services and our relationships with clients.

I am a big fan of the unexpected and I’m sure there will be a lot of pleasant surprises in 2012. One thing I know for sure is that I work with the best team in the world!

Tiffany Turkington, managing director

Flow is lucky to have some of the best clients – we’ve added some new ones in the past year and we are excited at the prospect of forming even more wonderful partnerships in the new year.

Some of the many highlights in the year ahead will be moving into our new offices, adding more fabulous Flowstars to our team, and growing and improving the work that we produce.

Roy Barford, Cape Town manager

Following some big success in 2011, I’m very excited about the prospects for Flow Cape Town in 2012.

We’re looking to take on some more clients this side, and many enjoyable challenges will arise as a result. Flow Cape Town picked up several excellent accolades in 2011 and we will be working with various clients to maximise the benefits of these this year.

Cape Town Tourism is widely regarded as one of the world’s top destination marketing organisations and we are working on some big projects with them, which will be very rewarding when complete.

Personally, it’s all the challenges I haven’t yet anticipated that I’m most excited about, and I’m sure there will be plenty of those in 2012 as we continue to grow the business here.

Christine Marot, Durban manager

I always enjoy kicking off the new year with management strategy sessions, which serve to reiterate our values and provide focus for our individual and collective energies.

My crystal ball (and hindsight) tells me we are in for yet another busy, exciting, innovative and fun-filled year throughout Flow. Personally, I’m looking forward to wooing a few new choice clients, maintaining service excellence for existing clients and playing my part in contributing to the growth of the Flow group.

Colin Ford, writing studio manager

I am looking forward to continued growth in 2012. Flow has bucked many economic trends by not only surviving in a struggling economy, but growing and thriving.

However, a business doesn’t only grow in terms of its bottom line. We have also seen huge growth in the skills and experience of our team, and I am sure that development will continue on an individual level in the new year.

Tina Brown, design studio manager

The design studio came through 2011 exceptionally well, due to the fantastic work ethic and enthusiasm of the designers. Each designer has stepped up to our particular challenges and, as a result of this, the growth in their design capability, capacity and speed has been visible.

The new year already looks to be very interesting, with new work and pitches already scheduled for early and mid-January, plus, of course, the roll-out of existing projects from the first day of 2012.

Richard Frank, web development studio manager

The web development studio will be focusing on migrating existing clients onto ExpressionEngine 2, which has now matured into an even more formidable content management system than ExpressionEngine 1.

We also see 2012 as being a big year for mobile development. Over 10% of our web traffic is now mobile-based, which means many of our clients are paying attention to the mobile market. We’re starting to use responsive design methodologies to adapt the web-browsing experience to smaller devices.

Roshni Nana, project manager

For Flow Communications to keep succeeding one only has to look at its stars.

But I’m not referring to the twinkly ones that shine down on us on a cloudless night – it is the hard work and dedication of the Flowstars that will help Flow reach even greater heights in 2012.

Many organisations have seen the need to deliver information as it happens using the internet and social media. Consumers all over the world are equipped to receive and digest this information at a much faster rate than before.

With our skilled staff and constant innovation in the areas of the web and social networking, Flow is the best one-stop shop for “new-age communications”.

It is my hope that Flow will continue to attract large new clients and accomplished Flowstars in the new year.

Bev Strimer, financial manager

My main priority for the year is to ensure that the accounts and records of all the group’s companies are kept in good order.

This is also the year to upskill more staff to take on more of the day-to-day running of the accounts department. We’ll also strive to continue to keep our very good credit rating with our suppliers and bankers; to assist and ensure that our move to our fab new offices runs like clockwork; to upgrade our accounting and payroll package to a larger and better version; and to achieve a clean audit once again.

Flow Communications would like to wish you a happy and prosperous 2012. To our clients, and clients-to-be, we look forward to working with you in the new year.
