The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway launched a dynamic new home page at the beginning of September.

A more innovative and user-friendly interface has been designed to increase traffic and the click-through rate. In addition, a new right-hand navigational feature displays important visitor information, such as whether the Cableway is open, the state of the weather and the operating times of the cable cars.

The designer of the new-look page, Ryan Levenson, says, “Working on the Cableway site is always exciting – it’s a very friendly and vibrant brand. The new look has been designed to make the site more user-friendly and to promote key content in a more modern way.”

The new page promotes the Cableway’s marketing strategies by placing the three most popular sections directly under the main banner. There is also more emphasis on visitors purchasing their admission tickets online, with a bold and clear link to the ticket-purchasing page.

The daily blog immediately draws the reader’s eye, and the feature image, complemented by a succinct heading, creates an even balance between the visuals and the copy.

The new page is neater and more current than its predecessor and boasts a wondrous 720-degree virtual tour of the mountain’s summit, which aims to generate increased traffic to the site. The revolving view can be paused to allow site visitors to become more acquainted with the mountain and its views.

The Find it Fast section provides hyperlinks that will increase internal click-through rates, while there are also direct links to popular social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and TripAdvisor, a United Kingdom-based site that extensively reviews our natural icon.

Flow Cape Town manager Roy Barford says, “Table Mountain is right up there with the world’s most iconic attractions, so it’s important for the Cableway to have a website home page that meets top international standards. We wanted to come up with something that was both beautiful and simple for visitors to use. I believe we’ve achieved this.

“It’s a great honour working with the team at Table Mountain Aerial Cableway and we’re very proud of what we’ve achieved in partnership with them.”
