One of Flow’s specialist offerings is media training, designed to help executives in the corporate sector deal with the media effectively.
Media training is an essential skill for individuals and groups who need to face members of the press, whether they be from the print, radio or television media.
Flow Communications has an impressive list of clients who have been trained in the past and who are still part of our company’s portfolio. Some of our current clients are Liberty Life, Cadbury’s, MasterCard, Telkom SA, Multichoice Africa, Denys Reitz and Lubrizol.
Training is conducted at our clients’ offices, with sessions running for approximately five hours, depending on the needs of the client.
During this time, delegates are shown how to answer challenging questions under pressure, conduct press conferences and use media opportunities to the advantage of their companies.
Trainers research clients extensively to ensure that delegates’ needs are met.
Conducting the training are media veterans Jeremy Maggs, Kate Turkington and Tara Turkington. Maggs co-hosts eTV’s Newsnight every evening, and Kate Turkington is a highly respected travel journalist and hosts South Africa’s longest running radio talk show Believe It or Not on 702/Cape Talk on Sunday nights.
Flow Communications’ CEO Tara Turkington, a print and online specialist, has written for a wide range of publications including the Mail&Guardian, Financial Mail, City Press, Elle, True Love and numerous others, and has lectured in journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand and the Durban University of Technology.
